I would like to say that this morning I read in EW that they update the cover of Anne of Green Gables and made Anne a blonde. Not. Happy.

This is a list of books that just sort of popped in my head. I think I'd be comfortable with any of these being declared my "favorite" book so far. But there are still so many books out there left to read... That's one of the reasons I don't re-read books. But if I did I'd probably start with these. Except for The Girl Next Door. I don't think I can do that one a second time.

    The Gold Coast
    by Nelson DeMille
    The Godfather by Mario Puzo
In The Dark by Richard Laymon
The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum
    IT by Stephen King
Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon
Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith - Tops the list as one of my favorite books of all time. I just adore this book and I'm not sure how many times I have read it.

My two favorite non-sK books are The Great Divorce by CSLewis and Sphere by Michael Cricton. Other memorable ones include The Catcher in the Rye, Lolita, Silas Marner, The Princess Bride, The Turn of the Screw, and The Haunting of Hill House.

I have many and most are by Stephen, but one of my all time favorites is The Painted Bird.
