Okay, I need to fess up. I never in my life read these horrid Harlequin romance novels...until they came out with paranormal romances, that is.

I am a sucker for Heather Graham. I like the mix of cozy and ghost story. Obviously, the books are written by a formula. The usual arrogant man,the beautiful heroine, and the scary ghost of ghoulie. She churns them out like she is on an assembly line. It is sorta like reading a hundred different recipes for apple pie. I cannot seem to help myself, though. Thing is, I think Heather Graham could write a really great novel if she stopped writing this kind of pap but why should she bother? The literary snobs would say she is selling out. I would say....go for it sister!

I don't like reading that stuff--heck, I don't have time to read all the books I want that aren't formulaic--but if I thought I could make a mint writing it, you can bet I would. Under a pseudonym.

I too read the Paranormal Romance stuff. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit o'fluff for entertainment My favorite writers so far are Nicky Charles and Autumn Dawn. Most of their stuff on my nook is either free or just a buck or two.
