    Default Hi! I`m new here

Hi everyone! I`ve been on this site many times before, but just registered today. Never really been a huge Stepehen King fan, as I haven`t read much from him. I`ve seen movies based on his books, but didn`t actually read anything. Been a life-long fan of Ray Bradbury. But almost a year ago, I started paying more attention to King and have since read lot of his short stories. (no novel yet, though). And I have to say, I have enjoyed almost everything he has written! He is now one of my favorite authors for sure.

Okay - I read your whole post and - is there a question hidden in there? If there is I missed it. I'll give you some unsolicited advice if you like - try Duma Key, 11/22/63, and Under the Dome if you want to try some of his newer works. I just got 'The Dead Zone' out of the library as I haven't read it in years. I will be attempting "It" and "Cell" soon but I think almost everything he has written is just tee-rific!

Good to see you and welcome. I met Ray Bradbury years ago here in Alberta.

Hope you enjoy it here..why no novels yet?Do you prefer shorter works? May I suggest The Eyes of the Dragon,to start with, introduces you to Randall Flagg who you will likely run into if you continue reading SK..another fast read is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon,I enjoyed both those books and they may give you the impetus to take a run at the longer novels..

Hi! Welcome to the SKMB! Keep posting! I like to recommend The Dead Zone as a sK starter novel, though there are so many great ones to start off with.

The question you asked (which I edited out) has been dealt with behind the scenes through Stephen's agent for foreign rights.

Welcome. Sorry to not be able to see your question, but if Mod edits it out, there is always good reason.

Since people are recommending starter novels for you, I always recommend one of these two for first timers: Pet Semetary or 'Salem's Lot. I think that since you are a Bradbury fan, the uneasy tone of 'Salem's Lot may intrigue you more. If dystopia is your thing, nothing better than to start your journey to the Dark Tower and read The Gunslinger.

Under the Dome for a recent work will most certainly tickle the fancy of a Bradbury fan. Happy reading!

    Welcome aboard.

Read The Shining and then you will be ready for Dr. Sleep when it is released later this year.

Hi and welcome- May I suggest you read the SK books that you saw as movies. You might be in for a surprise. Many find the books are way better than the movie. All good suggestions from the above members. Keep reading and enjoy the world of SK.
