Heh! Good one! There was this once, I come home from work...we'd had thunderstorms during the day. Walk in...three Springer Spaniels snoozing on the kitchen floor...their stumps start beating a tattoo on the floor...yawning big time, licking their...chops. I think dogs do that when they're nervous. They did not like storms...4th of July parades (we live a block off the parade route) nor the church bells nor the high school football games, nor the cannon that would be fired upon the end of game, nor crowds cheering (they wanted to be there), no sirens. They wanted in when most of those events took place. Get home and they're all inside. They had opened four doors, got past the barricade in the outdoor kennel, but they stayed in the kitchen, on the floor. Maybe they'd kicked back, recliners all, six-pack of beer, the remote, and when they heard me coming, they assumed the position.
