The violence just never ends. We don't HAVE TO sit back in shock and dismay and keep reading these headlines day after day after day, as if we are powerless to correct the situation and are just some sitting ducks waiting for the next one to occur. Just how many more tragic incidents will have to happen before serious change is made? A thousand? A million?
Hello people, I live in Wilmington. I was there today. I didnt hear the shots , but some of my friends did.
My work is about 6 blocks from that court house.
It (all this stupid gun stuff) has hit home. Its very....unreal....
they had much of the street blocked off all day long, many of my friends could not get their
cars out of the parking lots near the court house. not till like 4 Oclock.
All the buses in the city had to be re routed.
the "feelings' are hard to explain . articulation is difficult. I am not Stephen King. I dont know what
to say.
Hmmm. How to say this without offending people on both sides of the issue? I fall somewhere in the middle. I think both sides have good points to make. But I seriously doubt there will ever be any agreeable compromise between the two sides. As long as criminals continue in their ways, angry/suicidal kids or homicidal/mentally unbalanced folk continue in theirs, and the media continues to sensationalize what sells, there will never be a cool-headed, reason-based, agreeable compromise with which both sides can be reasonably satisfied. Two things I will always believe...In a country with many millions of guns around, there will always be guns available somewhere somehow someway, legal or not. And there will always be those willing to use them however they see fit, legal or not.
