The falling objects from the sky...

Towards the end of the book, when Sully is driving, all those items fall out the sky. I wondered if someone could tell me the significance of all the random objects that come down (tv, piano, stuffed lion etc)? Had a quick look through the threads but couldn't find an answer. Thanks.
