It is so hard for me to see a movie after I have read the book. There is a little voice inside my head that keeps complaining about everything that's been left out. Even if I enjoy the movie (ex. the Harry Potter series), I am left with a feeling of disappointment that so much had to be left out to squeeze a great story into the span of a movie. Logically, I know if has to be done, but I grieve a little just the same.
And I agree with those before me who love to laud it over anti-SK degenerates that he wrote so many excellent books that are outside the genre with which he has long been associated - books that were often styled into truly great movies. Uncle Stevie has mad skills and cannot be written off as "that guy who writes the scary books."
