    Default Dwight Allen?

I just read an article by this gentleman (I use the term just to be polite). He wrote an article in the Los Angeles Review of Books called "My Stephen King Problem: A Snob's Notes by Dwight Allen"

He bashes Mr. King's writing style pretty badly. I think this guy needs a swift kick in the n*ts, if you ask me! I know everyone is entitled to their opinion however I think the part of his title about being a "snob" is correct. Thank goodness he is in the minority. He can't even find anything good to say about 11/22/63, the knob! I guess some people just have no taste! It takes all kinds to make a world. Oh God now I am starting to sound like my Mom!

Dwight Allen is a lit snob--you can't really expect much better behavior from him. I would point out that, for someone who would like to be taken seriously as a writer (he has published a few books, all with university presses), his own sentences don't really "pop" and aren't particularly "right and true and beautiful".

He's just another name-dropper who does not understand storytelling.

It doesn't bother me. I bash Lisa Gardner all the time. Writing is art and if they don't like SK, well, they're missing out. We get to be in the cool kids club!
