    Default Jake Epping Fountain pen?

    Hi there.
I just finished the book (at last!). A friend of mine told me I would be really like the main character (I did).
As a pen enthusiast, I was really excited when Jake talked about his parker pen (the Jotter, no doubt), but I am really, really interested in the fountan pen he gets as a gift. The book said it was a Waterman pen, and near the end it was revealed to use refills.
Does anyone have any clue about this pen? It may be a silly question for you but i would really like to know.

    Best wishes!!!

I had a Waterman pen back in college days, and indeed some models did have the ink refill cartridge. Very convenient instead of the ink bottle.

Thanks to all those who had readed this topic!

I have some Waterman Fountain pens, all of them use refills (I have a converter so they can use ink from bottle), so, it's really hard to say what fountain pen was it.
I may have a clue based in very few information an assumptions from the book.

    1) Waterman was the very first company to release a fountain pen using refills, that was in 1953 (5 years before Jake travel) with the model Waterman C/F

    2) Waterman used to produce rubber pens, they accepted celluloid in 1929, so, for the year Jake received the pen, it's more likely for it to be a celluloid (you may call it plastic) pen

    3) Bobby Jill and Mike doesn't seem to be very rich, so its nos likely for them to be able to get an expensive pen (I assume the did not make a collect since it was more like a personal gift from them instead of more people).

    4) Mike claims it not to be of pure gold, but this hint for a golden stile pen, at least in the details like clip and rings.

    5) The pen had (if my memory is to be trusted) a wood case, but i'm afraid to say i'm not sure if this was common in that time with Waterman pens.

    6) Due to the time when Mike and Boby Jill got the pen, it's not likely for it to be an Art Deco stile pen

So, with this i'm describing almost all Waterman fountain pens XD
Does this gives any idea? Too bad King did not more information like with the parker.
