Anyone else hear about this on the news?
...no joking here, that young lady is lucky to still be among the living...what an asshat to tell them "Duh, sure-it's OK to get closer to the rhinos"...why not tell em to poke em with a stick while yer at it ya douche-munch?.....
If this is true, it's pretty stupid to stand in front of Rhinos.
This reminds me of a story:
One day, I was going to see my sister in Naples and I was driving across the state on Alligator Alley. Alligator Alley was the road you had to use back then because the interstate was not there yet. Alligator Alley is a very long desolate two lane road on the edge of the Everglades and it has it's name for a reason. Anyway, I was driving on Alligator Alley and came up on a car on the side of the road. Two people were out of the car and were standing about 2 feet away from a huge alligator taking it's picture.I looked in the paper the next day to see if there was a report of any alligator attack but didn't see one so I guess the idiots made out ok.
My mom used to go live in Yellowstone every summer, and you might be surprised at how many tourists try to get their pictures taken with the "tame" wild animals. One poor, stupid, Japanese woman (who might've weighed 110 pounds) stood right beside a 2000-pound bison as a photo op... the animal flicked its head like it was shaking off a fly, and the woman landed twenty feet away with half a dozen broken bones.
People have tried to pose with moose. And with grizzly bears.
Some guy got eaten by a bear recently. He had "backwoods training" that tell you how far to stay away from bears. From pictures on his camera, he got way to close. The bear ate him. Good. He deserved it.
THEN THEY SHOT THE BEAR.
It makes me absolutely furious. *seething*
If someone told me to get next to a rhino I would tell them to *f* off.
Yeah, sure, go ahead and stand in front of the wild beasts with the foot long SHARP horns on their noggins!! Yeah, sure, man, it's safe. (as photographer mutters 'Stupid, stupid people!' under their breath.....)
We had a guy in my town that was driving down the road and there was an alligator crossing the street in front of him. He stopped his vehicle, got out and grabbed the gator by the tail to drag it out of the road. Of course, this did not end well, he needed quite a few stitches in his arm but at least he didn't lose his arm.
That's so stupid to go and stand front of wild animals. Hey go and stand front of a Lion maybe the
picture is great but the end is not so great anymore. I've always be careful of wildlife. Why people want to
play with death and their own life.![]()
