I just finished watching the fourth season (I know I'm behind) of True Blood on dvd. Is anyone else of the opinion that this show has gone completely wonky?

I was enjoying it up to season 3. Season 4 made my head hurt. But, I too, shall continue to watch. What's wrong with us?

In the beginning it was good wonky. Now it's "what the hell is going on here?" wonky.My husband loves this show but I thought it was completely wonky from the start...

I would like to say that I have a good excuse because I read and loved the books but that doesn't work for the reasons listed below:
- The show veered way, way far away from the books a very long time ago and there's no hope of going back.
- I haven't even liked the BOOKS in a long time. (And yes, I still read them too.)
I thought season two was terrible, got better in season three, and then season four I am seriously like, WTF?
