    It's okay!

BTW, Spidey's suggestions were very good. You should definitely check out The Eyes of the Dragon. He wrote it for his daughter so she would have something of his that she could actually read. And it's REALLY good.

And I accidently erased them, duhhh. I was just trying to get rid of the notifications that my posts needed to be approved before they would appear and I guess I got rid of the two visitor messages I had so if I don't respond to whomever sent them, that's why. Sorry!

I'll have to keep that in mind when I get ready to look for books again. May be awhile!

I think it may be because I've watched more of movies based on his books than read a lot of his books and they clean language up for TV.

...expecting King to write without profanity(which DOES equal real-life, really & truly-like it or no)...is akin to having gone to a George Carlin show, and being shocked when one of the "seven dirty words" slipped out(repeatedly)...

Actually, I think you will find people don't care what your religious beliefs are, YOU are the one who made that an issue in your original post, by speaking about Christianity and SK taking your Lord's name in vain. You could have made your opinions about profanity perfectly clear without resorting to the "offended Christian" argument. That is sooo stereotypical and a wee bit predictable, think of something new already!

Ooh, and before you think I'm accusing you of being funny or weird, I'm not, and am actually a Catholic myself with a strong belief in God. I just don't feel the need to use that when trying to justify my arguments or point of view. You've already been told what to expect if you continue reading SK's books, if you choose to continue then I suggest you do so with an open mind. If that's not possible then please don't waste your time. Enjoy.

i find it incredibly interesting that anyone claims to feel as strongly as the OP says they are about such things would buy or download an entirely new author...in the horror field...w/o getting to know something about them/their works...

indeed, it should not surprise anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention to modern culture...in all its moods, forms, shows...that a writer who had begun his or her career in the early '70's might just possibly not be as squeeky clean as, say...edgar allen poe...or hawthorne...

there are many posters here who have clearly professed a deep and abiding faith...and yet they have, by and large, not found his books to be overly offensive..in fact, i think they might be best to speak to kings unerring sense of ethics...of right and wrong...and that really has nothing to do with language

welcome to the real world..or as axel rose screamed...welcome to the jungle
