(((Sunny))) some people are just nasty... and thoughtless.Yesterday, I was rear-ended by an ASU student while traveling on Faculty Street. The impact shoved my car several feet forward. My daughter was with me, she said she felt it in her back and neck and nose. I got out of my car, saw that the only visible damage is the imprint of the bolts of the other driver's vanity plate on my rear bumper. Walked to her car.....she rolls down her window and asks if we're ok. I tell her that I'm not sure if we're ok, but don't have any obvious injuries. I told her that we need to pull over and report the accident, just in case. She says ok, and I get in my car and pull into the bike lane.....she then speeds around me and turns up Stadium Drive.
I did get her license plate number and car description. Two ASU employees saw her go up Stadium Drive, and when the campus police arrived, they located the car. Apparently, she parked it and ran because they said her purse was still inside, along with a partially eaten sandwich from Jimmy John's. Damage on her front bumper matches the imprints on my rear bumper.
I can't believe that someone would just run off like that, not knowing if they had hurt someone, or caused damage to someone's car. What would have been a simple accident report has now become a blatant hit and run.
I received a call from the officer this morning, and they found her, charged her with hit and run, and now she has a court date in addition for being liable for doctor visits to make sure my daughter and I are are ok, and damages to my car. The officer had her sign a statement that she knew she hit us, and fled the scene of an accident.
