I think "wow" about cover it. I'm biased of course, but this is my personal favorite. My one goal is to eventually get a copy signed by Mr. King to keep on my shelf and pass on to my children one day.

You should read Dreamcatcher, it has mention of Derry as the four main characters are from there, and it mentions the storm of '85 and some events after '85.I also wouldn't mind reading a short story about Derry in the present day, 27 years after It, to see what's going on there now without It terrorizing the city.
Man, I love IT. I think I'm gonna read IT again this summer, while schools out. Can't wait to get back into IT!
I, like many others, have read this so many times, and enjoy it every time. It's in my top 3.
I've been away from the board for a while, between graduating college and about to start graduate school. Also I've been reading Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove and related novels.
However, I recently finished It around the beginning of the year and thought I would share a few thoughts as I always do here after finishing a King novel.
The story telling was absolutely amazing. As a man of 23 It really brought me back to playing with my old group of friends in my old neighborhood. The character progression and realness allowed me to not read the book but live the book. I felt as if I was apart of the gang and was constantly dealing with a hate/pity relationship with Bowers as many of the main characters were. It really brought me back to the Wizard and Glass. Two stories about old friends and childhood trumps and triumphs. I was also a little surprised by the ending, as I am in all of his books lol. It was actually somewhat happy and conclusive which threw me for a loop after reading several other books including the DT series.
To conclude I really enjoyed this one and is right at the top of my favorite SK novels along with Salem's Lot and 11/22/63. (The DT has its own category lol).
And now the real journey begins as I start on The Stand tonight.
First time for The Stand? Ohhh Enjoy.
Thank you for your post, and say "hello" to Larry for me.And that Stu guy, too.
