Owen has a pretty good collection of family members that can read his book and give him an honest appraisal. It must be intimidating but on the other hand, once a novel passes through that gauntlet of readers and gets the thumbs up, you would have to feel good about it.
What a treat, we have Owen, Joe and Steve all with books just a couple of months apart.
I went over to the Amazon site and Owen's book has a pretty impressive list of good reviews, both from critics and readers.
I read the title of this thread and thought, "Right ... pretty sure he lives here." Oh my.
I've already decided that anything the baby Kings write, I'm reading. (Book-wise, anyway.) Not because I think they have some kind of voodoo--though I suppose they might--but because they grew up watching their parents read, read, read, and write, write, write, so they gotta know that's how it's done. (I recently read a short story by an author who shall remain nameless, and I thought, "Have you ever read a short story before??" Not a good think to have.)
I won an advance copy, and finished reading it a week or so ago. It's a terrific novel, well worth reading.
