of monsters and cowboys

Well, it's been a very long while since i have started my journey to the dark tower, but recently i've felt like continuing my journey and picking up my copy of the drawing of three. So heres what i have to ask. Would you consider this one horror? Any romance in this one? Does this one act like its predecessor? Is it better? Reason i am asking so many questions is just curiosity because of what i have heard.

The Drawing Of The Three hooked me in from the start. It will introduce you to the characters that you will either love or despise.( I started out not really liking one character and then much to my surprise, ended up loving them by the end) I have never considered, the dark tower novels horror. More of a magical, journey filled with encounters that are joyful, sad and dangerous (often all three at the same time). Go grab that copy of DOT, I am 100% sure that you will not be disappointed.

Many who have taken the journey, yes, I call it a journey rather than reading the books-- had issues with the Gunslinger. It was not typical SK horror. DOT, like Becks said, introduces you to the main characters. They are drawn into Roland's journey. If horror is defined as an intense feeling of fear, shock, disgust- then yes you will find elements of horror in DOT. Romance ,in the literal sense comes later- instead you begin the bonding of the Ka-tet. IMHO, read on, find the path and join Roland once again. The experience is life changing.

I loved DOT. I also think of it as a journey. I never thought of the DT as anything but purest fantasy. Which has elements of all kinds of romance, horror, adventure. By all means, read and most of all enjoy.
