IT has a vague fear that there might be another and that the seven kids are agents of that Other. During Chud, Bill thinks it might be the creator of the Turtle (although I imagine it may be the other way around.)
Unlike IT and the Turtle, we have no direct insights into exactly WHAT the Other is.
I figured the Other is a force as primitive as IT, but completely opposite. IT is a destroyer of life, his essence being the deadlights. The Other would be something that feeds and nurtures, that gives joy and hope. The Living Lights.
But why does’nt the Other have a material manifestation in our? Or does it?
Reading the part where Eddie dies, I realized the Other was there all along. While IT deceives, wears a thousand masks and hides under the earth, the Other is in plain sight. All around us and so obvious that we usually don`t think about it.
What feeds all life on this earth and banishes the nighmares? That thing so powerfull it can destroy a vampire in an instant. While IT is seen as a Nightmare Spider, I think the Sun or maybe sunshine, is the best image our minds can give to the Other.
Eddie, dying: “…the light, oh God, that perfect rational light that clears the horizon somewhere in the world every second.”
Of course sunlight does not harm IT and IT can kill in daylight. Same as the Other can help the seven at night or under the earth. These two forces cannot affect each other directly.
What do you people think? How do you imagine the Other?
