I think I have to add Rose Madder into the mix. It was good and reminded me of BoB in certain ways.

Pick one up next time. Bag of Bones will always be one of my favorites, so my prediction that Lisey's Story would be a good next choice for you isn't that risky.

In terms of character development, I have felt that Duma Key was the closest thing to Bag of Bones I have read, so far (haven't read Lisey's Story or Dolores Claiborne yet). At least I felt as attached to the characters there as I did to the characters in Bag of Bones. Certainly there is more than enough character development going on in Duma Key, and the supernatural doesn't take center stage for most of the book.

i'm gonna agree with everybody...because they are all quite correct in thier picks/suggestions...any of the stories mentioned would be a great follow up to BOB

...and, i really liked 'em all immensely !!

i did have to give Liseys a try or 3 before i 'got' it...but once i caught hold of its special voice...i was as gone as with any great SK

can't go wrong with any of them

Love it. Top ten for sure. I read it right before or right after Duma Key, which I also love. Great books. Not slow at all. They both kept me interested from start to finish.
