From where I sit-people don't want complex entertainment. They want pretty basic, brainless tripe. If this is that, then of course it's a success.

Sometimes I want brainless tripe myself. But even brainless tripe should be fun.

LOL ... I found the first 5 chapters online and skimmed it, and then I went searching for the naughty bits and found a blog post that contained the juiciest ones. But mostly I'm going off what Shasta said. My conscience is clean.

I have to confess that if it were lying around I would probably read it, in the same way that I read most any printed material lying around.

So now you (and everyone else) take me expert advice AND GO READ "SHADES OF GREY" by Jasper Fforde. Seriously. Then every time you hear the word grey you will think about something pleasant instead of how much time you wasted. DO IT.

I don't know if I ever will read this book. I don't understand the hype. Kudos to those willing to read it. I'd rather read King and go on with my life.
