Default How Long Did It Take To Read?

For my English class, we're supposed to pick a book and write a literary analysis on it. I chose The Stand (mainly because I was starting it soon anyway) and I plan on pursuing the topic of good vs. evil.

...I'm supposed to have this read in eight days. I'm only on page 60 right now, and I have the uncut edition. I'm wondering if I should just pick a different book or try and go for it.

So, how long did it take everyone to read The Stand? I love King; he's my favorite author, but I'm not sure if I can read that much in a little over one week.

It is possible to read it in 8 days. And, as GNTLGNT stated the theme of The white Vs Evil is epic. I believe the audio version runs about 48 hours read time. Allow yourself, if possible, blocks of reading time. Try not to sacrifice speed for getting the full content. Good luck and please tell us how you do on the analysis assignment.

Go for it, it's worth the time you'll spend.

A good friend of mine just read it in 6 days. Not because he's a fast reader, but because he thought it was just that good.

I think I read it in a little over two weeks the first time.

I've read the cut version of Stand and okay I admit I'm a lazy reader sometimes. So I think it took 3 or 4 weeks for me to read it.

Once you really get into it, you will find yourself moving along at a quick pace. Are you allowed 8 days to read and report on it? If just 8 days to read, I would take pages in book divide by days and keep yourself to that goal for each day. You can do it!

Yeah, 8 days to read it and then until April to write the analysis (We have to hand in five reader response journals in seven days, however). I think I'm going to go for it! Thanks, guys!

Good luck! You won't regret it. It's a big read and a little daunting if you have a dead line but, like others have said, it's one of those "I can't put...it...DOWN!!!" type of books so I'm sure you'll do fine. And a great book for an analysis. You'll have plenty of material. Good pick!

You can do it! And as others have said, let us know how you do on the assignment. I first read the shorter version and found the Uncut version later at a yard sale. Did the happy dance for weeks later!!
