Yup, pneumonia is what he had, but it would have been possible for any of the people who survived Captain Trips to get another strain of the flu...and can you imagine the panic that would have ensued?!

How did he get the flu when he was initially immune to it? Was it perhaps deliberate from God?

Seeing as he wasn't actually the "one to fall" as they all thought, and it was obviously Glen who fell via getting shot by Lloyd...

If I remember right Stu did do the falling (hehe....sorry couldn't help myself) But in the the movie I think Mother Abagail does say that "one will fall by the way and that the others will be taken in front of Flagg who isn't a man but a creature of the underworld" so ya Stu was the one to fall by the way. and as for the flu/pneumonia with the broken leg and sleeping out doors...he was bound to get sick some how.

I figured that he got sick from infection cause the version i read mentioned many cuts and wounds but never mentioned anyone treating them but i guess pneumonia makes more sense
