I am happy today because I just returned from a nice visit with Virginia, who was in high spirits. Her mind was clear today and she loved the Valentine's wreath that I made for her. Terri, their dog, enjoyed a new stuffed bear and treats. John was pleasant too-- miracles do happen.

I'm happy today because it's Friday, I'm already home, and my first birthday cake baking experiment was a success.

Because despite my misgivings over an e-reader, I am really enjoying my new toy. It is not as hard to read on as I thought it would be, and I have access to web-only treats like Mile 81. Which was great, btw. You know it's good when you want to yell at the characters- GET AWAY!!!

I am happy today because, in two days, I will be hearing Stephen King give the closing address at the Savannah Book Festival, and with any luck, I will be able to get a signing card so I can have him sign my much-loved copy of Lisey's Story!
