I am struggling with Shadow of the Wind by Zafon. It started out great, at least way better than average then I got kind of bogged down with it. It's translated from Spanish and sometimes it feels like more than one person is interpreting the English. The story has become just good enough to want to find out what is going to happen, but there seems to be something hinkey with the language.
I have Joyland sitting right next to me so I think I'll put SofW on hold and read something I am nearly certain will be a satisfying ride.
Going to start Dan Simmon's 'The Guiding Nose Of Ulfant Banderoz'. Yes, that's really the title. It's his homage to Jack Vance's The Dying Earth books. Can't go wrong with Simmons!
Dead Sea by Brian Keene. I'm not sure what to make of it yet.
