This morning I started reading a book I picked up unexpectedly last night, The Drowned Cities. It is the 2nd book in the Ship Breaker Series by Paolo Bacigalupi. I have read the first book and it was pretty good, but had no intention of buying the hardback edition of the 2nd book since I had the 1st in paperback and it wasn't like on my top list of "to read". But as I was thumbing through the pages, I looked at the front inside page, and the book was signed by the author! Pretty cool find at Barnes & Noble! The guy at B&N said the authors will sometimes send out 2-3 copies per store that are signed, and I was just lucky enough to find one.
Anyways, had to share my cool story with you guys.
Finished Full Dark, No Stars, 11/22/63, Duma Key, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, and Cycle of the Werewolf. I won't be finishing From a Buick 8 for a while; I didn't care for it, so I took it back to the library. I may try again later. Now reading, Desperation.
Just finished re-reading The Green Mile and Everythings Eventual, and I'm now a few pages into Lisey's Story.
What an emotional roller coaster SK's books are. Thanks again SK!
I Just started reading The Drawing of the Three. I'm still on chapter 1 though.
I'm reading Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. It's wonderful so far.
The Waste Lands.![]()
About a hundred pages or so from finishing Wizard and Glass. This is my fourth time reading it, and I'm loving it of course, but the whole ending to Roland's love story is fast approaching and I'm sort of dreading it, it makes me sad every timeTrying to hurry up and get through it though because I'm dying to get into Wind Through the Keyhole.
I've just read a Lee Child book that was pretty good, Without Fail. I just found out that Tom Cruise is going to play the main character, Jack Reacher, in a film adaptation of one of the other novels in the series........really bad choice unless Tom is going to wear high shoes, or the rest of the cast are all 4 feet tall.
