Weather is terrible here. It start to snow in my part of the world.
Yuck I hate snow now. I start to believe soon that we never get any spring or summer
what would happen then. Don't want to even think about it.

Catina- you are not a bad mom. I'm sure your little girl's poor eye sight could have been missed by anyone. The optometrist didn't even pick up on it, apparently, and aren't they trained to spot such things? Please don't beat yourself up.

And remain safe. Hopefully the vandals will be quickly apprehended, and the neighborhood will return to its former state.

Today is Tanya's last day before she gets two much needed days off from babysitting. Boy are we thankful!

Hi. Life's currently still nuts here. I've had four days off work and go back to work tonight. I also have a doc appointment this afternoon for my lupus check-up. I think I'm going to ask to start the new medication. I've been feeling a little rough. I Need to talk to doc about a few things, actually. Wish me luck. In the meantime, I'll be off in the corner having a cup of spiced chai. I discovered that Twinings makes an 'ultra spice' chai. Oh. My. Gods. It's wonderful. I'll leave a few boxes in the cupboard here for anyone else who wants to try it.

Our daughter had an eye appointment last week, she has had a bit of a lazy eye since birth, but it seemed to correct itself until she really started reading this year. And we found out her vision is terrible, as well. Made me feel like such a bad mom that I didn't realize she was having trouble seeing.

Cat, there is absolutely no reason for you to feel terrible, you could never have known she was having trouble seeing. I have a lazy eye and it wasn't discovered until I was 10-years old! I had eye examinations when I was younger and they missed it. It was only discovered after I started suffering from bad headaches, mainly over the left eye area. The specialist said I was a rare example of someone who has a lazy eye yet it isn't visibly recognisable. Unfortunately for me the damage was already done and I have very limited vision in that eye, which glasses and contact lenses can't ever help. To give you an idea, I just closed my good eye, and couldn't read the words on this screen, everything is just one giant blur! Either way, my point is, you can't "see" for your daughter so there is no way you would have known she was having difficulty, the same way my parents didn't know about my eye problems. Go easy on yourself...and I bet her glasses are fab! I often wish I could wear glasses as there's some brilliant designs you can buy now.

Thanks, everyone! This was her first eye exam, but she has seen the pediatrician regularly for checkups and what have you, and we were never told we needed to take her to an eye doctor. We noticed it when she was a baby, but then it seemed to correct itself, but I guess it didn't. She never stumbled over things or complained of headaches or said she couldn't see. I am pretty anxious for the school day to get over, and find out how she did today. She is pretty proud of them, so I think she will do fine. This morning I was lounging around in my football jersey, and when she put her glasses on, she said, "Mom, you have little holes in your shirt!" She couldn't see them before.

Ally, her glasses are pretty fab! They are a pinkish purple color frame, and kind of rectangle shaped. She really loves pink and purple, so they really are perfect for her. And since she likes them so much, there shouldn't be any problems getting her to keep them on.

She's a gal after my own heart, those are exactly the shape/colour I would choose! She's going to be fine. Glasses are cool now, really, I know people that wear them purely as a fashion accessory (without the special lenses). Times have changed since I was a kid and wearing glasses usually meant someone would be teased. I am always complimenting people on their choice of eyewear.

Good Monday to all. Hope all who are in the northeast are doing OK with the rains, and yes snow! Crazy Mother nature once again has her months mixed up. A South'easter turned nor'easter. Weird indeed.

Was a good weekend here. Cooler temps, so that is nice. Sending sunshine to all in need.
