Mr Olin from the Hotel Dolphin

Hello everyone - it's great to be here! I am just new to the website
so please bear with me while I get used to things!
A quick question -
Does anyone know if Mr. King changed the name Ostermeyer to Olin
not only for the reason of economy of text but also in order to rhyme with
the Hotel Dolphin?

That was his name in the short story. I don't remember if it was different in On Writing, though.

At the risk of being pedantic, it's Olin in 1408 as featured in my copy of Everything's Eventual.
Now I'm confused! Different copies for the US and UK?!?
(BTW... just watched the film version; quite creepy in its own right but disappointing for not sticking to the book version, imo. Wish they wouldn't mess with stories which are perfect as they are...)
