It's a shame there are so many nit-pickers. When reading a SK book, I rarely think of "errors" . It is a work of fiction, and from past experience, Sai King can do wonders with time-lines, events, dates, you name it. I sort of go with the flow and just enjoy the story. It's not a history book being used as text for university courses.

Agreed!! When I first joined the MB I was reading a library copy of Firestarter. Someone had underlined every typo, misspelling and error they could find.( not only that, they left little notes of correction) It drove me bats! I wanted to take an eraser and erase it all. I didn't though, since I was afraid to weaken the paper. I recently came across a first edition of Tommyknockers in a thrift store, and someone had done the same thing, only in pen....I put it down! Whatever happened to just enjoying the story for the story?

I'm thinking of re~reading the series and finishing with book IV, then continuing on with 4.5 to see if it alters the flow of the story in any way. I'm really hoping Rhea of the Coos is going to be in this book. :fingerscrossed: I want to read more of her, she's one of the best King creations ever IMO.

Glad you caught that too. Have just completed this gripping novel but was quite surprised myself to find the way-tto-early NFC reference. Maybe Mr. King salted the book with the odd mistake to keep readers on guard.

"On page 626,Mr.King refers to the Chicago Bears winning the NFC(National Football Conference) in 1963. There was no NFC in 1963-it wasn't formed until 1970.In '63 it was still the NFL........ Surprising considering Mr.King's a big sports fan.....maybe you can post this for me?"

Glad you caught that. I noticed it too assuming it was Stephen King's (or his editor's) spell-checker that caused the minor error. BTW, from the narrative flow, I thought it was the 1959 Stanley Cup final though the same two teams (Canadiens and Maple Leafs) met both years.
