Finished it last night. Without giving anything away it reminds me of some of SK's early writing from Night Shift. Campy horror. Not his greatest, but worth passing the time.

Uploaded last night, I will enjoy reading this over the weekend. Just to needle me, my wife said "Oh, if you read one Stephen King story, you've read them all!" I said "Once you find a particular food you like, you keep coming back for more of it!"

Mile 81 popped up yesterday morning on the Kindle. I immediately abandoned the Laymon novel I'd been reading. Been reading other authors all summer. The very first page of Mile 81 felt like coming home. Nothing like a new tale from the King to make me satisfied.

Finished Mile 81 last night. Excellent read. A very fast paced story that keeps one attached to the screen. First time I have ever read an ebook via mac computer. ( still prefer the feel of the pages in hand ). Could not believe how quickly time passed. There are many "easter eggs" within this story. Several just hit you like a brick. I think Uncle Steve had fun with this story. A little bit of everything for everyone.

I noticed and thought the same thing Maryann. It was a great read, that reminded me of some earlier works as well. I absolutely loved it!

Mile 81 was great. Like UR it was a short read, but still great. Kind of reminded me of The Raft. So far these stories exclusively for the Kindle/Nook are pretty damn good. They should give SK a percentage from every device they sell because of the advertising he's done for them with these 2 stories.

Loved it - seemed like it could have fit with the stories in Skeleton Crew.

Did not read the preview of the new book. No interest in a preview for me, it's either all or nothing.

Funny to see the phrase "she-who-must-be-obeyed" popping up a few times in this story...wonder if Mr. King lurked on this thread a few months ago?
