Honestly I've been frustrated with the endings of most of King's novels recently but have enjoyed his short fiction, so I would really love to have a new short story collection at this point. To be honest, I have copies of all of them already but want them collected in book form for ease of reading.
By my count, only including new fiction material since Full Dark, No Stars, there have been 12 short stories and 3 poems:
- Throttle (with Joe Hill)
- Mostly Old Men (poem)
- The Bone Church (poem)
- Premium Harmony
- Tommy (poem)
- Herman Wouk is Still Alive
- Under the Weather
- Mile 81
- The Little Green God of Agony
- The Dune - In the Tall Grass (with Joe Hill)
- A Face in the Crowd (with Stewart O'Nan)
- Batman and Robin Have an Altercation
Several of these are quite long and the collection would easily be larger than many of his most recent collections.
Hey publisher! I want to pay money for stories I already own copies of. How crazy is that? Please indulge me.
I'd eliminate the bolded because they're collaborations. Add the short story Afterlife Also, a couple older ones, such as Man with a Belly and The Night of the Tiger. Maybe three or four other new ones. That'd be 13-14 stories plus some poems. I'd love to see The Bone Church make a collection. Maybe that essay on guns as well?
So, something like this:
Mostly Old Men: a poem
Herman Wouk is Still Alive
The Night of the Tiger
Under the Weather
Man with a Belly
Tommy: a poem
The Little Green God of Agony
Guns: A Kindle Single
Batman and Robin Have an Altercation
The Bone Church: a poem
