The primary difference as I see it is that the Mac OS is easier to use. Used to be it was more stable, meaning fewer crashes, freezes, reboots and reinstalls, than Windows, but I dunno if that's still true. Macs are easier, imo, because they're easier to figure out and they require fewer steps to get the job done, a fact which applies to all aspects of personal computing. I think the addage "Once you go Mac you never go back" is probably close to statistically accurate.
