I think Javier could pull off the look of Roland and I know for sure he could do the voice. Watch "No Country for Old Men" to hear what I mean.

Let me start off by saying that I've never agreed 100% when it comes to the casting of any of sai King's movies or mini-series.

But I have a genuine problem with people basing Javier Bardem's casting as Roland based on his performance as Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men. There are superficial comparisons; both kill for their own personal gain, both are outsiders. But I believe the comparisons stop there. Anton Chigurh is a sociopath. Roland is not. I'm not saying Javier Bardem shouldn't be Roland Deschain; I'm saying people shouldn't judge him based on his role in NCFOM.

As for Eddie, Susannah, and Jake (or Susan Delgado, Cuthbert, Alain, Sheemie, Eldred, etc.)? I guess I'll criticize the choices when it comes time. I have mental pictures of all the characters, including Oy.

Sam Elliott is who I picture as playing Roland's father and dinh Steven Deschain. Alisha Keys as susannah. Clint Eastwood has to make a cameo apperance as someone, though I don't know who. Anybody have an idea?

It occurs to me, nowadays they do wonderful CGI stuff with archival footage (ex, the Mustang commercial with Steve McQueen). The director and producers of The Dark Tower could incorporate some Eastwood footage, artfully of course not corny or campy, as some character, perhaps Steven Deschain or early Pere Callahan, then Eastwood could play Callahan the elder. I think we're dreaming, though, to anticipate Eastwood himself being able to participate. He's almost as busy as sK!

I think the blue eyes is an important detail! I don't love the choice although I like him as an actor. Knowing the book somtimes wrecks the movie, I don't like anyone for this role.
