No. Hes far to old even for that. (go look at a recent pic of Eastwood) I am uncertain about the age of Vaney the teacher, sorry spelling.
Maybe he could play Roland's teacher...MAYBE.
A good person for Elder Jonas would be Arlo Guthrey . Google his pic if you don't believe me. Find a pic with him that has long gray hair.

It wouldn't do you any good to submit it here. It would need to go to Ron Howard's production company, Imagine Entertainment. Sorry, I don't know who they've hired as their casting company.

As good an actor as he is, i pictured Roland so differently in my head. Whoever takes on the role has mega big shoes to fit into. i kinna like michael fassbender for Roland, he's a fantastic actor, good looking in a craggy way but more importantly the man has steel in his gaze.

How about Daniel Craig? Has anybody seen what he looks like in the posters for Cowboys and Aliens? That's pretty close to how I imagine Roland. He even has the beautiful blue eyes!

After seeing "Cowboys & Aliens" I thought Daniel Craig would make an excellent choice. But as others have said if Sai King is happy with the choice of Bardem, who are we to question. Say Thank Ya!As for the eye color, CGI may remedy that easier than contacts.My hope is that they make at least 3 movies rolling I & II together and rolling the last 5 into 2.Long days and pleasant nights.

Hey, a good actor is a good actor, there's more about Viggo than only LOTR...Have you seen Eastern Promises? And anyway, if my favorite writer of all time is happy with the choice, i'm ok with it...beside, i'd rather have a good actor to play such a powerful part like Bardem or Mortensen...than only an actor who would look physically like Roland. My only demand is not to kill the soul of the character...when i see this movie, i wanna close my eyes and recognize Roland only from his words, not the sound of his voice...but the sound of his unbreakable soul!!
