I could lend 'em a couple of bucks if that would help.

    Hi,

    Fingers (et al) crossed!

So it's probably at the mercy of some fat bloke who has never read a book in his life, far less seven.

    Super!

    Long days and pleasant nights

Javier Barden is how I imagined Roland would look. Good choice.

I honestly can't picture Javier Bardem as Roland. The gunslinger apparently is tall, slim and blue eyed, something JB is totally not. No way!

I think a good person to cast as Roland Deschain would be Carl Urban. If you seen him in the new movie Priest i think everyone would agree. Now dont anyone take this to offense but how the hell you gonna have a Mexican or Columbian or whatever he is play as Roland, who is clearly white. Oh also Carl Urban also played in Doom and The Pathfinder just in case some of yall were wondering. If you need a better look at him go to wikipedia

Default Are you kidding me?!?!?! Javier as Roland?

Talk about a casting mistake. My lord that guy is atrocious as an actor and talks like he has a mouth full of marbles. What a disaster. Just my humble opinion.

Is there any new news on the financing for the movie?
The t.v. series has been cancelled if I'm not mistaken wasn't it, was that finances too?
I have about 5 bucks to spare if needed.

I'd love to see the Dark Tower series become movies but I suppose things happen as they should, mayhap it just isn't the right time to have them done, especially on the cheap.
As mentioned in this thread by other constant readers, I'll always have the images in my own heart and mind created by these stories. No financing required.

I am more worried about Ron H. and what hes going to do. He (Howard) said something like ::"The rules of the Dark Tower universe are Fluid". Meaning he can interrupt the rules of Roland's world, (the Dark Tower world and EVERY king-book ever written) in many different ways. I hope Ron doesn't screw this up. To me, this is much more important then the casting. He's Right though... Ron I mean...about the dynamics of the Dark Tower universe.
Sai King has never really set anything in stone. The rules of Ka and everything else are not really understood by anyone. Least of all by Sai King himself.
I hope Mr. Ron Howard doesn't go over board with his own interpretation, and I also hope he finds a role for his redheaded daughter . She is creepy and wonderful. Just my thoughts.

i am a true disciple of ka.when i found out they were casting javier bardem as roland, i knew it was the work of the crimson king,to separate the fools from the true believers.i SERIOUSLY lit candles and prayed to maturin the turtle and all the guardians of the beam to protect us from that blasphemy.I weaved a protective song around the character of Roland, strong enough to reach him from this world to where he is now, picking up the horn of Jericho...in an unquestionable sign of protection from the guardians, they are putting the movie on complete hold and potentially scrapping the entire project.i wanted to see the movies, but not at the cost of miscasting Good King Roland.Never that.Blasphemy.My prediction now,I'm calling it:it will go back into production at some point, but NOT with JB(nothing against him,he seems like a nice guy,but not in any way even remotely interpretable as my din father.Long Days and pleasant nights.
