Ms. Mod - I read on an HBO site that Warner Bros. decided to not do the Dark Tower movie and HBO is not interested. Is this correct information? Also, there was mention that Russell Crowe was once the top choice to play Roland until Bardiem came into the picture. I've checked the main site here and have seen no mention of the DT movie.

Warner backed out but I'm not sure what the status is for HBO. If they've decided to pass, I missed it. Bardem was the first one slated to play Roland but has been replaced for consideration by Russell Crowe. The news stories about the movie are probably buried in the archives as there has been a lot of news since the last update back around August which is that the movie may be produced in association with Media Rights Capital (the company that produced Ted).

I like Russell Crowe for the role if it ever gets made. I'm still hoping Ka will intervene and leave this one alone, I'm not sure everyone will get it. It would be a tragedy if people talked about what a horrible movie it was because it is an epic adventure. I will however keep an open mind, that's what we do in Canada!
