Re: Does anyone own the orig. Bachman paperbacks ?
Roadwork, The Long Walk, Rage, and The Running Man were first published in paperback only as Richard Bachman. Thinner was the first of the Bachman books to be published as a hardcover before going to paperback. The Bachman Books omnibus was published as a hardcover and paperback after his pseudonym was revealed.
Re: Does anyone own the orig. Bachman paperbacks ?
I have a 4th edition hardcover of Thinner, 1st edition hardcover of Blaze, and a first edition paperback of all 4 Bachman books together. I *sniff* had *sniff* an original paperback of The Long Walk...but loaned it out years ago and never got it back...*sniff*

I also have the first edition hardcover of The Bachman Books Omnibus that collects the four paperbacks. I found it in a used book store for $10. It's pretty rare, and I think the print run for the 1st ed. was between 15,000 and 20,000. It was released at the same time as the paperback version so most folks went with the less expensive paperback.
Re: Does anyone own the orig. Bachman paperbacks ?
It took me twenty years but I finally found a 1st printing of the hardback omnibus that has all 4 of the books collected in it at a Goodwill and paid 2.99 for it! I have yet to find a 1st printing at any of the used bookstores that I frequent. Any time I run across a copy of the omnibus collection I usually buy it, so far I have 10 hardback copies (one of them signed by King) and 7 of the large paperback copies. I have 5 hardback copies of Thinner, I've been trying to get one copy of each printing that it went thru (same as the Backman Books harback/paperback). I still need to get a 2nd printing in Thinner and and 2nd and 4th in the Bachman Books hardback. I own all of the original paperbacks, some of them I found at used bookstores for cheap and others (like Rage) I paid a premium price for. I also have all of them in the original UK editions, which is funny because they (the UK publishers) didn't follow the original release publication order as they released The Long Walk 1st, followed by Rage, Roadwork and The Running Man. Anyone know why?

Still getting over fifty shades of grey, but lately I've been hooked on Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and Emma Rose's His Every Desire series. Something about those billionaires...
Re: Does anyone own the orig. Bachman paperbacks ?
I've got the 4 in 1 version (Roadwork, Rage, Long Walk, Running Man). I suppose its about 20 years old or maybe older? I know it's not a recent printing.. my first clue is the fact Rage is in it. My 2nd clue is that the binding is worn out to hell and back!
