I guess ticked off isn't really what I am. I'm just sort of...disappointed? I went to our local Costco (for those not familiar, it's a big warehouse store where you can buy things in bulk) and the parking lot was full. I park a goodly distance away from the front doors and as I'm walking in, there is a mother with small children unloading her cart. It's hot and I stop and tell her I will wait for her to finish unloading and I would take her cart for her. (she was almost done or I would have offered to help her do that too.) She was thrilled. I mean, it wasn't a huge hike or anything--but a bit of a walk since we were further out. I know how it is having little kids and I'm sure she was just ready to go. So, I take her cart with lots of thank yous and I go shop.
Then, I come out, load my car and a young woman is walking by. I start wheeling my cart a little ahead of her back up to the store front. We walk in-step all the way. I put my cart in the line of carts and she comes up behind me and grabs my cart. I'm thinking, "Really?" You couldn't have done a random act of kindness and taken the cart from me when we were a mile out in the parking lot?
I encourage you all to take someone's cart for them. You never know when someone's back is screaming at them and a few less steps would mean a lot.
After months of agonizing over whether to spend the money on a huge privacy fence or a line of evergreens to help screen the monstrosity of a dental building they built right behind our house (never assume an open field will stay an open field...), we finally decided on trees, searched for just the right type, found the place to buy them, called Digger's Hotline...and came home to find not one, not two, but FIVE lines (cable, phone, electric) running right down the property line where we planned to have the trees planted. I am so bummed. Don't know whether the trees can be squeezed in between them...will find out in a couple of days.
I am ticked off because my partner has trouble saying no and now will be working late tonight![]()
I am ticked off today because after doing loads of work on our explorer recently I think the insurance company is going to total it. (Hubby got hit on Wednesday. He is ok) We've recently done shocks front and back,( monroe sensa trac load adjusting nightmare with the "spring" shocks in back) brakes front and back, plus rotors, an alternator, new belt for the compressor, spark plugs, & wires, sway bar and bushings. It just seems like murphy's law that you do all this work and then this happens!! And from what I read keeping it would not be an option in Ohio, as you have to jump through hoops to get a salvage sticker and what the insurance is willing to pay out is severely reduced. ( would it even be enough to fix it???? the entire front passenger tire and wheel well are history) OK that's my grrr of the week!!
Know what you mean with the Murphy's Law, but glad to hear he's okay.![]()
