And yes christine is an amzing book and a good first read.
I highly recommend it as a first read. This book came out shortly after I graduated High School and was the first King book I ever read.
It really spoke to me and was probably the first time, I realized you could all but fall in love with a book character (Leigh Cabot) I suppose it will always be my favorite King novel, maybe just for sentimental reasons.
Take it from me, Christine is an excellent first book to delve into. It will keep you entertained for a week. I may be biased, though, as I am an ASE-certified Master Auto Technician at my day job. I would like to turn writing into my day job. I'm trying!
I *think* this was the third SK book I read (after 3/4 of The Dead Zone and all of Cujo), but would do nicely for a first time read for any new fan.
Christine was the first SK book I read without seeing the film beforehand. I was about the same age as Arnie and Dennis at the time so it was fairly easy for me to relate to the main characters.
The first SK book I read was The Shining because I really liked the Kubrick film and that made me want to read the book.
I think good ol' Christine was my fifth king book, I loved it and still do love it. I think it is a great one, and I would lend it to friends, but it is in bad condition unfortunately as I got it from a second hand store
