I liked the book more than the movie. But Carpenter did a great job by direct Christine.
Hello All,
I believe the novel is always better; because the novels go into more depth; 4 example, explaining the background of each character. I did like the movie; but to me a book is usually better than a movie. Some people will just go and see the movie; because 2 them reading is 2 much of a hassel, if they only knew what they were missing
.

I liked them both, actually; if I had to chose just one, the book hands down. But the way Arnie died in the movie I think was better than in the book. Other than that, I enjoyed reading Christine as much I did watching her; beautiful Plymouth Fury.
I always try to read the novels before watching the movies. But if I could only pick one the novel would diffently win.
Not a fan of either. For some reason, Christine is the only SK book I had to try multiple times to get through.
Dunno, maybe it's because I'm not a car guy.
On the other hand, over time, my memory of the story, which I haven't had anything to do with for a loooong time, seems like something I may appreciate more. Maybe I should give the book another try.
Always? I'm afraid I have to disagree. Sure, novels can (and often do) go into great detail in a way that's impossible for a movie to do, but film has the advantage of quickly telling where and when the audience is without spoonfeeding it. The problem some novels can have is that they feel the need to explain every single thing. More isn't always better, IMHO.
Now, with that said, I have to say that I thought that in this case, the novel was superior. The character arc of Arnie becoming more confident (and following that, more arrogant) is largely nonexistent in the movie.
I prefer the novel, but I do enjoy the movie it has been one of all-time favourite movies since I was kid. It was because of the Christine movie that I discovered King.
I saw Christine the movie long before I read the book. Then I read the book (pretty much forgetting the movie except for the look of Christine...) and then re-watched the movie. For me the book was much better. The movie was good, but after reading the book I wasn't a fan of the changes they made for the movie.
When I was about 14, the boy I was dating took me to this movie like 5 times. He was obsessed. Until I got the book and read it. I told him how much better the book was, and he no longer had any interest in the movie. He was one of those anti-book strange creatures. So he lost interest in Christine, and I lost interest in him!!!Hahaha. Anyway, I don't think I've ever experienced a book/movie combo where I liked the movie better. Books rule!!
