There was a lot of goodies and baddies in this book. The baddies, such as Big Jim and Junior just made you want to jump into the boot and kick the living daylights out of them. But my best characters were Rusty and Dale for sure.

I would pick Rusty, the doctor. I think that the whole situation was really hard for him because he had two little girls, unlike Barbie, and yet he was very brave and didn't resist to help.

Andrea Grinnell was my favorite, I really sympathized and connected with her problems, and the way that she stood up for what she knew to be right with the odds stacked against her.

Wow, only one person has mentioned my fave - Thurston Marhsall. An old hippie, smart and literary, hooking up with a young chick and a wide range of knowledge and experiences. I was disappointed when he kicked the bucket!

    Followed closely by Rusty.

Favorite character - The (un)actual Dome. Second Col. Cox. Third is a tie, Brenda and Julia.

Just to be sure - SPOILER ALERT

Dougie 'Twitch' Twitchell. Can't really say why. I just laughed so hard at the image of him and Rusty smoking in the ambulance... From that point on I always smiled when Twitch became a part of the story. I was glad to see him survive too...

Barbie and Rusty were ofcourse fantastic characters as well, just as Julia Shumway, Brenda Perkins and Jackie Wettington. Even Jim Rennie was great - I absolutely loved hating him, even though I only realize it now that I have finished the novel.

The kids were great too... Was anyone ese shocked when Benny Drake died? Sure, there were signs, but still... I just didn't want him to die and I found his death more shocking than the sudden deaths of Thurston Marshall and Aidan. Not sure why...

Oh, and Andy and Chef were fabulous...

What I'm trying to say is: all characters were great in their own way. If I have to pick one though, it would be Twitch.

To be honest, I don't really know what to do now I've been reading Under The Dome over the course of two months now and it seems strange to spend a whole week without reading the newest adventures of Barbie & co. Fantastic book, great experience.

My favorite character is Horace. <3 His endearing doggy outlook brought light to a dark situation.

I already posted and submitted this once, but I guess it got lost in the great cyberspace vacuum.

I know, me too! But I've had Doloris Claiborne hanging around here for months, so I'll let her tell me stories now.
