Default So What Do You Suggest I Read Next?

I've been "aware" of King forever of course, but when I think about it, I've probably seen more films of his stories than I have read his books.

In fact, until a few weeks ago, I had only read "The Shining" (and loved it). I finished 11/22/63 a couple weeks ago...(could be one of my all time favorite books now), and am about halfway through "Bag of Bones" (liking it much so far).

I know "The Stand" is a favorite, but I do recall starting to read it many years back and losing interest, so..other than that, what do you guys think would be the best "next read" for me? I've gotten so used to getting in bed at night with my iPad and reading King that it's going to be like quitting smoking if I don't have a follow up for this one

    Thanks for your input!

    Tom

Ah sounds good, will check it out. I don't know if he always writes in first person, but I do like that style with him. He's funny and still can turn on a dime and get scary real fast

    Here's what I recommend:

    http://thetruthinsidethelie.blogspot...rder_2128.html

It's gonna take you a while to read through all the books on that list, but you'll be a demonstrably better person once you've finished.

I always recommend The Dead Zone for beginners. sK himself recommends it for newcomers.

11/22/63 is one of my faves too. 1st person story telling is an exception to the rule though with Stephen.

Anyway, if you don't mind a biggie, read 'IT'. It is my favourite (and many many other sk fans) and it ties in a little bit with 11/22/63.

Okay, so you started "many years back" on The Stand and didn't care for it. Pick it up again, because it's classic King and you're in a different headspace now than you were lo so many years ago. I think you'll fall in love with it and want to continue reading it. And make sure it's the unedited "anvil" edition!
