    When mistakes were being pointed out soon after the book was released, Steve responded that the "mistakes" may not be mistakes at all and hinted to be thinking of The Dark Tower.

    He didn't come out and say it, but I took it to be a reference to there being many levels of the tower, alternate universes, and traveling between them.

    The fact that the story crosses genres shouldn't matter at all. In Sai King's stories, we see regular people/regular life interupted by strnage things. Why wouldn't a crime drama be ok? After all, there would be (and are) police officers, etc...in these alt. universes. So a crime drama, normal life, with a hint of the supernatural, makes perfect sense to me.
