How did duddits know?

Do you think Duddits was from somewhere close to the other alien race that wanted to take over earth? Why would he care what happens here anyway? Any thoughts?

Duddits is another in a long line of sensitively drawn and fleshed out King "oddballs" who have some type of extraordinary gift...I always look at folks like Duddits, Carrie White, the Firestarter. etc. as more than our equals. I look past the so-called disadvantages and see the real hand of God at work...they, and others like them are to be respected and not pitied or reviled.(Whew, that took real effort to be sincere that long, but I did it!)

Dreamcatcher - Book good, movie ok. Duddits character in the movie ok until the end.

Yeah the movie leads you to believe that Duds is from space as well. NOT an idea from the book. I don't know WHERE the movie was going, but the ending in the book is a MILLION times more realistic and better. Duds rocks my socks!
