So glad this is getting a release!
Stephen King and John Cougar together. Two of my favorite artists together. What more can one ask for? Hope the DVD contains a full video of one of the live performances.
Want to give a shout out to The Overlook Connection. They're offering to include free an actual program booklet from the Atlanta stage production with pre-orders of the Ghost Brothers CD while supplies last. For more information, visit their web site at this link.
My hardcover edition just arrived!
Overall I'm happy with this edition - gorgeous sleeve to hold the book, which is a soft, dark brown pebble that looks like a photo album. Wish it was hard cover too though.
The major knock I have is the discs are stored in cut out pockets on the inside of the back cover. Would have much preferred jewel cases. A matter of preference.
Bev, you'll have to let us know what the digital version has that the book does not.
The book is much larger than I expected, it's 11 x 11 inches - thought it would be more disc sized - which is great because it makes reading the Libretto so much easier with the larger text.
All in all a very nice package.
Now off to listening!
I just heard a very interesting interview from John Mellencamp-It sounds like this project has had a very complicated history-but it sounds very good now.
I have listened to the album several times now and there are several outstanding tracks:
1) "That's Me"
2) "That's Who I Am"
3) "So Goddamn Smart"
4) "How Many Days"
5) "Home Again"
6) "Brotherly Love"
7) "My Name is Joe"
8) "Tear This Cabin Down"
9) "What Kind of Man Am I?"
10) "Truth"
All excellent tracks, which is very good for an album with 17 of them. The others are solid too but these stand out for me. The real stand outs 4, 5, 7, 8, & 10
Besides the aforementioned disc holders for the hardcover edition, the other disappointment is no video - or audio - of a full stage production. That would have been sweet.
I don't have the CD yet but I did see the play and That's Me, Home Again and Tear This Cabin Down became instant favorites of mine.
I really need to pick up this album. I was initially so excited for it, and then... I need to rectify this, and soon.
