Stephen's take on it was awesome lol. Really liked the Molly Ringwald & the Popeye's chicken parts, that killed me. Totally agree about Gary Sinise & the Heavy Metal soundtrack. I will say i did see both versions of the Shining and while i still like Kubrick's better to me Garris's version was one of the better things I've seen that he's done next to Valerie on the Stairs and Desperation. I would still like the Stand to be re-made if it get's the proper screen time whether it's a trilogy (which i doubt) or a long arsed mini-series. Would loooove to hear what Stephen thinks about the Pet Sematary remake, most of the people I've talked to on the net and in person don't want that one touched lol..

    9. They need to write in a lot of heavy-metal for the soundtrack.

Let's start with Anthrax Among The Living.......how 'bout that?

IMO, this is an ideal property to update. As I think it was shot on video, there is no wide-screen HD version of the content. This makes the project seem "smaller" in a subconscious way. If there was full 1080p cinematography, the whole series would seem more up to date.- Minus the acid washed jeans.

There is a remake in the works but its not in pre-production yet. The interesting this about it is the director. Hopefully WB will pick up The Dark Tower after they remake The Stand.... Haven’t these movies studios learned anything from adapting literary franchises to film (Example: the Twilight and HP series).

Ben Affleck is directing... with such classics as Gone Baby Gone(never heard of it) Gimmie Shelter(no) an The Town under his belt, The Stand isnt gonna be a problem for Affleck id prefer it in the hands of a upcoming director not an over privileged actor cuttin his teeth

The only Ben Affleck direction I've seen is Gone Baby Gone, and it was pretty darn good. Don't forget, he directed two actors to oscar nods.

The only actor in the original who I will really miss is Gary Sinise. I thought many of the roles were badly miscast, such as Frannie, Joe/Leo, Lucy Swan, and particularly Harold and Nadine. The actor who played Harold Lauder was horrible I thought. I loved seeing SK in the miniseries though!
