Overall, this wasn't too bad a film. It was an easy way to kill a few hours.

I like David Keith in whatever he's appearing in. And Drew Barrymore was good as Charlie. George C. Scott, though... hmm. I really didn't buy him as Rainbird.

I also thought the F/X at the end, when the bullets were bouncing off Charlie, were downright hilarous! Talk about cheap work.

given, the book is definitely better. Yet, the movie is decent; that is, it stays on the story-line.

I think George Scott was a very good Rainbird. Also, back in the day when this film was made, that was as good as the graphics got. Not cheap work-OLD work. If that movie were remade, imagine the possibilities! The movie guys should consider this one.

Firestarter wasn't all that bad a movie. The only criticism I had was that it didn't give enough backstory on Charlie's family and the experiments that happened prior. Overall, it's a good movie.

Never saw the film; once I read the book, it's all but over. I do have the CD Soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, though. Can't beat that with a stick.

Both the movie and the book were good....although the movie is nowhere near as detailed as the book.

There were a few things I would have liked to have seen but with all movies they ALWAYS leave things out. Rainbird was not as scary as I had imagined him, & the fire at the House was not as intense as I thought. Also the houses they had did not seem as intense as I thought they would be and the death of Charlie's Dad was not as dramatic as I pictured it but overall I really enjoyed the movie but definitely prefer the book and my own imagination lol....Drew Barrymore did an awesome job <3
