Silver Linings Playbook.
I loved the movie. The film is a little to the center of Sundance and to the left of mainstream (imo).
First rate acting, directing and production. Jennifer Lawrence deserved the Oscar.
Watched The Perfect Host.....Kinda cheesy suspense/thriller with some dark comedy thrown in. Starring David Hyde Pierce. Not sure that I liked it....
Sunny, Oh, I do agree he isn't hard to look at!!No worries, Becks....I'm not ga ga for him either.....but he definitely is a not so guilty pleasure![]()
Quartet.
What took Hoffman so long to get on the other side of the camera?
It was perfect.
Saw another good one, for the first time: The Trouble With Harry, a Hitchcock comedies. (!) It's a quirky little flick that sounds more like it was originally intended as a play, and the cast is really good. Lovely footage of Vermont in the fall. Good plot. A very young Shirley MacLaine and Jerry Mathers. Great Mildred Natwick performance. And oh - hey - discovery: John Forsythe was a hottie when he was young.![]()
Oscar nominated movies I just watched are: Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Life of Pi, Django Unchained, and Lincoln. Enjoyed ALL of those very much. Now I want to see Silver Linings Playbook.![]()
One-Eyed Jacks (1961) - the only film Marlon Brando ever directed and it is very underrated. Maybe not a classic like Sergio Leone's The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly, but certainly worth watching.
