Yesterday I saw The Wolfman...and Precious.
The Wolfman was decent enough, although I did notice many continuity errors with costume changes. But it has the great Anthony Hopkins in so say no more.

And Precious, well, where to start? Heartbreaking from beginning to end. At one point I recall thinking what is happening to this girl can't get any worse...and it did. It even made me say "No" out loud. Nobody looked at me strangely, as I'm sure they were all thinking the same thing. Definitely worth seeing, if only to make you appreciate that most of us don't have life quite as bad as we think. There are people really living in situations like that, and those are true horror stories. It made me cry.

Last night I watched "With Honors" starring Joe Pesci, Brendan Fraser, Patrick Dempsey, and so on (so many great actors in this!). I just adore this movie; every time I watch it, it's just as good as the first time I saw it. Knowing Boston as well as I do helps, of course. I love seeing places I'm so familiar with on screen. The story is so moving, and it's actually true to real life issues of stereotyping, etc.

I've watched a few movies the past couple of days.

Love Happens starring Jennifer Aniston. A chick flick, no doubt but it couldn't grab my attention.

The lovely bones Great movie. I haven't read the book yet, but I liked the movie.

Dolan's cadillac, from Stephen King's story, with Christian Slater playing Dollan the bad guy. Do not see the treiler if you are going to see the movie cause yoy see the ending
I liked the movie and I am starting to believe that movies made from Sai King's short stories are many times better than the ones that are based on his long novels (I am talking about the movies only), the main reason I guess is that they live out a lot staff from the long novels.

Last weekend I geeked out and rented a few horror movies. I watched:

Rob Zombie's Halloween II - I liked it. I kept trying to compare it to the original Halloween II and realized that I couldn't because it was not meant to be a re-make. It is Zombie's version.

Orphan - Don't know how I feel about this one yet. Pretty creepy though.

And lastly, I saw Zombieland - I think this is one of my new favorites. It reminded me a little bit of Army of Darkness (humor) which is probably one of my all-time favorite movies.

I've just seen The Lovely Bones...it was beautiful.
The effects were spectacular, and although I have read the story I was still captivated throughout at what would happen next.
I honestly do not have one complaint about this movie; that's possibly a first for me!

    Go and see it people.

Last night I watched one of my all-time favorite foreign films again. PONETTE starring Victoire Thivisol (the most adorable kid!). The movie is in French, with sub-titles of course, and it is heart-wrenching, warm, inspirational, sad, happy and haunting. I cry like a baby through almost the entire thing. In short, it's a film about a little girl whose mother dies in a car accident, and she goes to stay with relatives for a while. She questions God, life, death...the works. I'm not sure it's available to rent anywhere; I taped it years ago (on VHS no less!), but if you can find it, it's a must see.

During the weekend I watched two movies:

Drag Me to Hell. Well, sure it is quite a scary movie, and it is worth watching once. But for me it was rather boring, there's nothing special in this movie. Obviously, it is not going to be one of my favorite films and I don't think I will rewatch it.

The Unborn. This is a great movie! I really loved it! The idea of this film seemed to be very interesting to me, and I watched this movie with a great pleasure and I guess I will watch it again.
