A few weeks ago I watched Lawless with Tom Hardy . . .I've become a really big fan of his and I enjoyed Lawless. Hardy played Bane in Batman Rises and I thought he was awesome in that role. Hell, I was hopin' he kicked Batman's azz!
Started watching The Stand miniseries again yesterday. Was just watching the beginning for shiggles and giggles, then discovered that the wife has never seen the whole thing. We watched 2 hours of it last night, we'll finish it at some point in the future.
I just returned from the theater where I watched Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere (pun unfortunately intended) and the cinematography, it seemed somewhat influenced by 2001 which is always a good thing IMO. I probably would have preferred someone else in Clooney's role (I've enjoyed his work in exactly one film, O' Brother Where Art Thou) but I thought Bullock did a very good job, which surprised me, as I have never enjoyed any of her prior work. A bit of suspension of disbelief is required to buy everything that happens, but all in all I had a good time with this movie...though I would have ended it differently.
Watched Bottle Shock on DVD-about Napa Valley in the '70's and how California wine came to rival French wine. (Enjoyed a few glasses while watching too, I might add! )
It was very much worth the watching. My favorite previously was Olivier, but Hardy nailed the charming menace of Heathcliff. It was outstanding!
