IT is pretty terrifying throughout. Bag of Bones, 1922 from Full Dark, No Stars, and some others all have scary moments, though.

I think my favorite is Misery, but this is a good adaptation.

Well, if anybody else was writing it, it would be #3... but this is THE Stephen King we're talking about, so #2 isn't out of the question. I prefer to think that's it's all of the above.
