Much has been said about why he was Bachman. I don't know anything about John Swithen or why he decided to use the name?
Gormenghast on the bus, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in bed, Full Dark, No Stars on the toilet.
Ah but he only ever posted 13 times, admittedly his review of 11/22/63 was a doozy... I'll wait until Marsha or GNTLGNT write a book and read that.
You'll have to explain this one for me...
The Shining is one of my favourite horror films. If it had been more true to the book... it wouldn't have been nearly as good. What works in a book doesn't necessarily work in a film.
The bit where the horn honks made me laugh so hard when I was 14 or so.
Katie Holmes and Superman... Never happened. She looks a bit like Kristen Kruek from Smallville though and KH was in Batman Begins.
I can't do audio books either. My mind just drifts off after a little while and I suddenly realise I haven't heard the last five minutes and have to go back!
Like I say it's not a pun or meant to be humorous.
The first part of the name is Tights Tights Tights its saying we sell tights, nothing but tights, tights are what we are all about, tights,...
You're being defensive and taking it personally. Almost as though you ARE Dean Koontz... are you? Sorry Dean.
From a completely selfish perspective (no disrespect intended to victims of sexual abuse) I feel like my childhood is being stomped all over, all the people on TV when I was little are one after...
Theres a shop in my local mall specialising in tights (British English for pantyhose). The title is not a pun but it always amuses me, I'm not going to explain why it sounds funny to me just yet as...
Taking that a little too personally don't you think?
I did the exact same thing in February! Really enjoyed them. (and it had a Stephen King quote on the back cover!)
Has he ever discussed this? He must have a cast of thousands across all his novels and short stories including characters that only have small roles or are just mentioned. All the surnames can't just...
No truly fact based lesson ever needed such a defensive question as the 'were you there?' one.
Have you read 2001, 2010, 2064 and 3001 by Arthur C. Clark? They're really good sci-fi and the first book is a lot more digestible than the film.
I saw the film with a friend who'd read every single book and was really annoyed they'd cast Tom Cruise in the role. When the credits went up at the end he grudgingly admitted that he was pretty good...
I've just finished (and very much enjoyed) the Hunger Games trilogy, I would never have bothered with it if I hadn't seen the quote from Stephen King on the back. I'd dismissed it as a cheap book...
I wanted to post on the book round the world thread then realised it had been closed, but I really want to say this:
There are six volumes of The Green Mile. And six major continents.
To be fair people notice the King books on a bookshelf because there's so many of them. If Harper Lee was your favourite novelist no-one would notice from seeing your bookshelf. If I entered someones...
People who write loosing instead of losing and the sign on a building site near where I live that says "Apologize For Any Inconvenience" Why should I? They should apologise. Oh, right... I guess ...
Have you ever been tempted to write a prequel to one of your novels?
How about a sequel to Firestarter?
The last family that spent the winter there had twin girls who I believe met a sticky end. They're merely mentioned in the book and Kubrik obviously expanded on it.
